“I’m driving around the country talking to people about the Constitution. […] The whole idea of it [the show], is that we talk about the Constitution all the time but most people don’t know what it means. They think it means what they want it to mean, i.e. whatever it is they’re opposed to is unconstitutional; everything they want is guaranteed by the Constitution. But most people, no matter how much they say, don’t really understand its function, its history, and how it working - and it’s kind of important that they do because we’re all in middle of it. The constitution , to be a little more nerdy, it’s like the force. It surrounds us. It protects us. It binds us all together as Americans.”
-Peter Sagal
Our friend upstairs, Peter Sagal, host of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me has a TV show premiering on PBS tomorrow night. It’s called Constitution USA and in it he drives around on a Harley Davidson, seeing how Americans are living life around the law. Peter joined the AMp hosts Brian Babylon and Molly Adams this morning to discuss Constitution interpretation and the importance and benefits of simply knowing the Law of the Land.
